Conversations

I loved having a little baby and getting to snuggle up to that little ball of perfection, complete with new baby smell. But I think the toddler phase is my favorite so far. Bean is talking more and more, which means he’s becoming so much more communicative and interactive every day. I love the conversations we have. Here’s some of my favorite recent conversations:

I busted him throwing away his shoe (he’s captivated by throwing things in the trash right now):
Me: Bean…did you just throw away your shoe?
Bean: *acts surprised and looks into the trash can like he doesn’t know how his shoe got in the trash* OH NOOOOO!
Me: Oh no what? You just threw it away, you little goober.
Bean: Nuh-uh.
Me: Yes-huh.
Bean: Nuh-uh.
Me: I saw you do it!
Bean: Nuh-uh. Da-deeee do it.
Me: Nuh-uh.
Bean: Yes-huh.

After I got him ready to go to daycare on Monday morning…
Me: Want to go bye bye?
Bean: Ummm…..NOPE!
Me: What do you want to do then?
Bean: Go night night *drops to the floor and pretends to sleep*

As I’m starting dinner…
Me: What do you want for dinner?
Bean: Puppy.
Me: We love our puppies – we don’t eat them.
Bean: Mmmmmmmm…..puuuuuppy.
Me: You’re weird.
Bean: Yeah.

After he ate the last grape in the house…
Bean: More grrrapes?
Me: They’re all gone.
Bean: Oh shoot. Na-na? (Banana)
Me: We don’t have any bananas either buddy. We’ll get some at the store in the morning.
Bean: *long, drawn out, dramatic sigh*
Me: You’re so deprived.
Bean: Yeah.

There are more but I can’t think of them right now. I love his little voice so much and hearing him picking up new words and using them in the correct context. He’s the best thing ever.
